The Day Online News for Students

The St. George’s now has access to The Day, a news resource for students with daily articles on a wide range of current topics. Be sure to check out the translations of  articles into French, Spanish, German, Italian, and Polish!

Gale Schools Databases

St. George’s now has a subscription to the Gale Schools suite of databases, including Gale General Onefile, Gale Ebooks, Gale High School Edition, and Gale News. These databases may be used by then entire St. George’s community, but are best suited for senior school students. IP authentication provides free access at school. The Ickabog

J.K. Rowling, author of the Harry Potter series, is releasing her latest book online. The Ickabog is now freely available to read! New chapters will be released every weekday from 26 May – 10 July. Readers aged 7-12 years old may submit drawings for a competition. Winners’ artwork will be featured in the book, which will be published in November.

Class of 2020

Former US President Barack Obama will address the graduates of 2020 in two separate online events, both of which will be video streamed live. “Graduate Together” airs on 16 May at 8 p.m. ET. “Dear Class of 2020” airs on 6 June at 12pm EST.

Return your library books!

If you are coming to school next week, please return all outstanding library books to the book trolley outside the library (main library) or the “Book Returns” box (chalet library). Families will not be fined for books that are returned late during Term 3.
